Hello everyone,
Yes, believe it or not, it is that time again….time to donate to United Way. The campaign officially started today and runs for 2 weeks, through next Friday, Oct. 17th. This year’s theme is “Make this your finest hour,” because at any given moment, in every life, there comes an hour of need. In an instant, we could be facing a hardship, crisis, or tragedy. People in Central Alabama communities often find themselves at their darkest hour, in need of support from United Way agencies. That’s where we can help by making it “our finest hour” when we donate to meet those needs.
We have always been a very generous campus here at Paine. Last year, Paine Intermediate raised $1684 with 26 donors, and Paine Primary raised $2104 with 42 donors. So that was a grand total of $3788 with 68 donors, which represented about 38% total campus participation between the 2 schools. So think of what we could do if we had more people decide to help out this year. Remember, it doesn’t matter how much you donate….just try to give something…..every penny combined will help to make a difference. We would love to have 100% participation, so please prayerfully consider what you might be able to do. I know times are still tough, but remember, we find our blessings when we can bless others.
Forms and brochures are now in your boxes. Since we don’t have a formal faculty meeting scheduled during the time of this campaign, we won’t have a Loaned Executive to come speak to staff as in the past. Therefore, please take a couple of minutes to watch the attached video from United Way. It is powerful and will get you thinking!

Remember, you can donate a cash amount or a check payable to United Way and attach it to your completed form. However, the easiest way to donate is by payroll deduction where you can decide an amount to give each month from your paycheck. That way, you don’t have to come out of pocket right now with any money. Payroll deducted donations will start in January 2015, so that may be helpful for most of us since the holiday season will be over. You can pick a dollar amount and multiply it by 12 to get your total donation amount for your form.
For all donations, once your form is filled out and signed, please remember to keep the back yellow copy for your tax records. I know together we can make a difference and I anticipate a great campaign this year. Thanks in advance for your participation and generosity!
